Chennai Super Kings (CSK) convincingly defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 78 runs on Sunday, propelling themselves to the third position on the IPL 2024 points table.
CSK surged up three spots, rising from sixth to third place, thanks to a favourable Net Run Rate (NRR).
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) maintained their position at the bottom of the standings despite securing a nine-wicket victory against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
With eight wins in nine matches, Rajasthan Royals maintain their strong hold on the top spot of the IPL 2024 points table.

It was a crucial victory for the defending champions as the competition for playoff berths intensify.
Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad's 98, along with an all-round bowling display spearheaded by Tushar Deshpande, showcased CSK's commanding performance in front of a packed crowd that fervently supported the yellow-clad team on Sunday.
CSK's unbeaten record against the SunRisers at Chepauk remained intact, and they also put an end to a two-match losing streak. CSK suffered their first home defeat of the season last week when Marcus Stoinis's remarkable century guided LSG to chase down 211. However, CSK were firmly in control of their defence of 213 on a slower pitch at the iconic venue.
RR, KKR, CSK, and SEH currently occupy the top four positions. These top four teams will secure spots in the IPL 2024 playoffs. The top two teams will face off in the first Qualifier, with the victor advancing directly to the final.
The Eliminator will be contested by the third and fourth-placed teams in the IPL 2024 standings. The winner of the Eliminator will clash against the losing team from Qualifier 1. The winner of Qualifier 2 will progress to the final, scheduled for May 26th.
